Many people think that hospital radio is just about playing a few music tracks, in reality it is much more than that. Many inpatients in Teesside hospitals aren’t fortunate enough to have visits from family or friends. For many, the friendly voice of a hospital radio volunteer is their only human connection outside of clinical care.
Our team at Radio Stitch are all unpaid volunteers from a broad age range and all walks of life. They give thousands of hours of their time every year to maintain a 24/7 service to patients in Teesside hospitals. But we can’t do it alone. We receive no funding other than what we raise ourselves, we require £2,500 a year to keep our service running.
