Hello, my name is Nigel Groom. I retired from my career with the Ministry of Defence in 2020, where I had worked in various locations delivering IT solutions to a wide variety of business units in the UK, Germany and other locations. I joined the Radio Stitch team in the Summer of 2025.
I decided to volunteer for Radio Stitch because, first of all, I love music, new and old. Also I understand the important role that music plays in difficult moments of our lives, and I hope that the work that I do helps people through those moments.
I work as a presenter, using my DJ alter ego of the Groominator, and also help out with IT support e.g. developing this website. My shows are all based around Feelgood music, with the tagline “Feelgood with the Groominator”. So far all my shows have been pre-recorded, which is great fun, but I hope to start performing live shows in 2026
I would describe my musical tastes as eclectic ! My three daughters would probably describe them as weird !
